Davidoff is a trademark associated with high-quality cigarettes and cigars. Besides these products the brand is famous for making pipes and humidors. Switzerland is considered to be the motherland of this brand where a new flavor was created. Zino Davidoff was the person who turned his parents’ small tobacco shop into a flourishing business. Having travelled around Latin America he is said to have invented the first humidor – a special box designed to store cigars within the optimal humidity range of 68 % to 72% at room temperature. He also wrote a number of books about Cuban cigar brands and smoking cigars. The first Davidoff cigars appeared in 1969 including the No. 1, the No. 2, and Ambassadrice blends. Soon other blends followed – The Mille Series and the Dom Pérignon were created in 1970, and 80 Anniversarios in 1986 to celebrate Zino Davidoff’s anniversary. There was also the Châteaux Series featuring the names of the most famous French wines, such as Châteaux Latour and Châteaux Margaux. Although Davidoff sold the cigar business to the Max Oettinger Group in 1970 he remained the ambassador of the brand until the day he died at the age of 87. The length of Davidoff cigarettes is 93 mm. and the pack is quite unique, representing an octagonal shape with a special inner foil and filter.
